Not long after (according to the earliest threads I could find), founder Jason Potter started the electric-skateboard. The forum also served as a discussion place for all those interested in DIY and Esk8s. Some of the earliest members to join were among theof our own Damon and Jamie.

See full list on esk8. VESC, and a Wii nunchuck-style controller (later changed to a steez-style remote). Later on in the same threa the Raptor Dual was also announced.

To this day the carbon fiber decks from the original raptor can sell for up to $3in good condition. Following the immediate success of the OG Raptor, Potter expanded his team and focused on coming up with the next big thing. Convinced that a certain drive style would be the future, the Raptor came to life with something that the DIY community was always a bit skeptical of: hub motors. At the insistence of a company that had proven reliable thus far, the public gobbled it up.

The VESC-X (later renamed “FOCBOX” after a trademark situation with Trampa) is still one of the most sought-after speed controllers for DIYers. Enertion motor mount, VR-spec motor, 4. After a successful initial round of buyers through the forum, the Raptor kickstarter was announced in November. The new forum “electric-skateboard.

This thin thane and questionable quality of the material itself led to the rear urethane disintegratingafter just a few hundred miles of riding, and leaving Raptor owners in t. It was advertised as an item to use in crowded areas to make pedestrians more aware of the rider. Later on, the odd-looking whistle was poked at jokinglyin reference to customers who never received their goods.

Despite some comments about the awkwardness of the wire placement and connectors, the Unity was generally well received. Importantly though, there were issues with some of the earlier firmwares that made the unit extremely dangerous and caused two broken collar-bone incidents.

After the firmware issues were fixe the integrated bluetooth module, USB-C connector, and extremely co. Customers were frustrated at unmet demands regarding issues with the Raptor 2. The “improved” urethane sleeves that the Raptor hubs desperately needed vaporize leading users to stop riding altogether or risk riding on their deteriorated wheels, often with disastrous effects.

There were also problems with the batteries and other aspects of the board. Members rushed to purchase the last of them online, and then that was it. In the en it’s hard to pinpoint exactly what killed the company that dominated and pioneered the DIY scene for half a decade. Many would argue that it was simply due to the pig-headedness of Jason Potter, but I believe it was a combination of all factors.

Half-baked ideas, poor quality products, and nonexistent customer service is a recipe for disaster for any company. With that, I’d like to say goodbye to the monolithic company and its horrible but somehow likable blue tinge.

We loved you, but not all is meant to be. They have successfully finished their Kickstarter campaignby raising AU$ 110(Starting goal was AU$5000) and a year later started shipping Raptor electric skateboard that claimed it should be the most powerful direct drive electric skateboard. We will be looking at their Raptor Electric Skateboard that is one of the fastest electric skateboards currently on the market with a big range as an added bonus.

If you are a speed-craving fanatic and prioritize speed and power over comfort, Raptor might just be the right alternative transportation for you. There are some contradictory things we have to say about this fast e-skateboard as well, so make sure to read the whole review for our honest opinion about this powerful electric monster. This part is the strongest of all features of Raptor e-board.

Not only that it can go very fast for quite a long distance, but it also has a lot of power that allows climbing very steep hills. Check out the video below where Raptor electric skateboard has no trouble climbing 30% gradient hill. The speed and power come from insanely powerful direct drive hub motors.

From a far the board in general looks quite futuristic and nice. The black color will be appropriate for all genders and ages.

Yet, when you look at the skateboard from closer you see these ugly bolts and screws sticking out on the sides of the board. Having spent a lot of money on development and design we think there should be no reason to have these bolts sticking out and catching your eye in a negative way.

Additionally, there are two handles on the sides for you to carry this skateboard. Yes Raptor is very heavy at 11. Also, rubber charge port cap is on the bottom of the battery ma.

The quality of the wheels, trucks, deck, and the build itself seems to be very solid. Raptor rides quite silently with no clattering or chattering.

However, in our opinion, the quality control is just not up-to-par. The grip tape that goes through whole deck top is very nice but is just cut unevenly in some places. Using the board is easy but needs some practice if you are a beginner. Remember this e-board is very powerful and very fast.

Use slow mode at first to tame this little electric mustang. We think you definitely need additional safety gear on this electric skateboard like a helmet and safety pads. Also, if you plan on traveling at night you will need to attach your own lighting since Raptor skateboard has no lights or reflective stickers. Raptor is designed for fast travel and racing, wide trucks and long deck allows a wide stance for stable ride at high speeds.

For us, Raptor is not really suitable for everyday commute because it is very heavy and not really maneuverable. On their website, it says it will ship in 6-weeks but we have seen people telling they have waited almost a year to get their hands on Raptor 2. We think this is most likely because they ship Raptor directly from China and they are manufacturing in small quantities. So be aware that if you really like the Raptor you might have to wait for it for quite a while.

As always where ever you plan on riding this fast skateboard make sure you are aware of local laws. Some countries do not allow electric transportation on the streets. Be responsible and research the legislation to avoid any fines.

As always, many skaters seek savings on their boards, and who can blame them? After a year on the market, we believe this to be likely. As such, we find it highly likely that they will follow suit this Black Friday. The remote is super user friendly in operating the Raptor.

Lithium-ion battery pack, 40C 36V. These bundles incorporate the bulk prices to make shipping smaller quanities a bit more worthwhile. Heute verkaufen und Geld verdienen. Bay ist für Sie da!
